A Highland road will close tonight to allow for the recovery of an overturned HGV.
Motorists faced a lengthy diversion which was in place all morning following the crash on the A86 Spean Bridge to Kingussie road on Sunday.
The accident took place a few miles outside Roybridge, just before the Glen Spean Lodge.
The vehicle was carrying ballast for a crane which was being transported to be used on a job at a windfarm. One of the breakdown recovery workers at the scene estimated the total weight of the lorry and cargo was 90 tons.
Police were alerted to the collision at about 9.20am. The fire service sent six appliances to the scene and the lorry driver was cut from his vehicle. He suffered “very minor injuries”.
Tonight the road will be closed from 8pm to allow for its recovery.
Police tweeted: “The #A86 will be closed from 8pm tonight to allow recovery of an overturned HGV east of Roybridge. Likely to take several hours so #PlanAhead. Diversion via A9 and A82 though #Inverness.”
