Police have confirmed that a body has been found as searches for a missing Highland pensioner continued.
James Hamish Macleod from Grantown, 80, was reported missing yesterday by his family.
The force said in a statement that a body was found late last night and Mr Macleod’s next of kin has been made aware.
Chief Inspector Iain MacLelland said: “Our thoughts are with his family at what will be a very sad and difficult time.
“I would also like thank those members of the public who offered to assist with searches and provided information – your help and support is always much appreciated.”
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course as is standard practice.
