Witness appeal after cyclist killed in Highland collision

A 47-year-old cyclist has died after being involved in a collision with a car.
Emergency services were called out at around 7.20pm last night to the A862 at Meikle Phoineas, by Kirkhill.
The road was shut for several hours while an investigation was carried out. It re-opened at 1.50am this morning.
Police confirmed today the 47-year-old male cyclist from the Kiltarlity area died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained during the crash.
Sergeant Gregor Hay of the roads policing unit thanked motorists for their assistance and patience during the inquiry and urged anyone who witnessed the collision who has not already been in touch to contact police on 101 quoting incident NN-104-18.
