Traffic management is back in place on the Cromarty Bridge to allow teams to safely work on the £1.5 million improvement project.
This striking photograph illustrates the scale of work being done underneath the bridge, which carries the A9 Inverness to Thurso road.
Works involve concrete repairs to the bridge deck and supports as well as the installation of protection measures to prevent future deterioration in harsh weather. The bridge deck is also being waterproofed and resurfaced to ensure a safe and smooth journey for drivers.
Traffic lights have been in place on the bridge for safety reasons since the project began in August. Bear Scotland lifted the controls just before Christmas but the work resumed this week.
