Two people have been taken to hospital after a serious crash on the A9.
Emergency services including the air ambulance headed to Dalnaspidal, between Dalwhinnie and Blair Atholl at around 1pm after the two vehicles collided.
The road has been closed and not expected to re-open for some time.
A fire spokesman said they sent two appliances from Pitlochry and Kingussie to the scene.
Firefighters used cutting gear to release one casualty from a vehicle. The spokesman added they are now in the care of the ambulance service and the stop message came back at 3.20pm.

It is understood two people are injured, one seriously.
A Scottish Ambulance Services spokeswoman said: “We received a call at 1255 hours today to attend a road traffic collision on the A9 at Dalnaspidal.
“We dispatched two ambulances, our Helimed air ambulance, our special operations response team, the trauma team and a manager to the scene.
“Two patients were transported by road to Ninewells Hospital.”
