Fire, ambulance and police are attending a two car traffic collision in the vicinity of the Georgemas junctions in Caithness. Initial reports state there are two casualties as a result of the accident, a man and a woman. Fire crews are liaising with paramedics because she was described as “medically trapped” in the vehicle. The man was extricated from a vehicle at the scene and is being treated by paramedics. The call from the police to the fire service came in at 3.39pm. As a result of the road traffic incident police warn that the A9 is closed and a diversion is in place. More to follow.
