The County Community Hospital in Invergordon has reopened after closing last week following a flu outbreak.
NHS Highland announced the re-opening of the hospital this but said that the MacKinnon Memorial Hospital in Broadford, Skye, remains closed after a number of patients there were confirmed with flu.
Its A&E and out-patients departments remain open, however.
Visiting is also still suspended at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. A spokeswoman for NHS Highland said it would remain in place to protect patients and reduce the risk of flu spreading.
Some patients, where having no visitors is seen to have a detrimental effect on their recovery, will be allowed one visitor under special circumstances although it must be agreed with the nurse in charge.
Catherine Stokoe, head of infection control for NHS Highland, said: “Flu is circulating in the community and it is really important that everyone plays their part in limiting the spread as much as possible.
“We are asking that visiting to our hospitals, where it is not already suspended or restricted, is limited to two visitors per patients, children under the age of 16 are not brought in to visit patients and pregnant women are advised to refrain from visiting.
“We also ask that anyone with flu or respiratory symptoms refrain from visiting hospitals or care homes.
“We are grateful for the support staff across all our hospitals in NHS Highland are receiving from the public at the moment and appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation at this time.”
The health authority re-iterated its message that the flu vaccine is the best defence against the spread of flu and it isn’t too late to get vaccinated.
People suffering with flu-like symptoms should cough or sneeze into tissues and bin them immediately, wash their hands regularly with soap and warm water and frequently clean regularly used surfaces to stop the spread of flu.
