Two stranded skiers were rescued yesterday by the Inverness HM Coastguard after spending a night on the Glencoe mountains.
Police received reports of two individuals stuck on the mountain range late on Friday evening. Blizzard conditions hampered rescue attempts with the Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team unable to reach the climbers.
At first light on Saturday morning the HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter based at Inverness carried out a dramatic rescue of two stranded ski tourers.
After spending the night without shelter at 3000ft the two skiers were finally reached by the Inverness search and rescue team at 8.30am yesterday morning.
The two were found in a precarious position, next to a steep drop, before being winched onto the helicopter. Both casualties were taken to Torlundy, Fort William before being passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
