A hillwalker is missing in the Highlands after being caught up in blizzard conditions.
Two men were rescued by Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team close to the summit of Ben Nevis at around 6pm yesterday having reported themselves in difficulty earlier in the afternoon, but the third member of their party is missing.
Rescue services were unable to make further searches of the mountain yesterday because of challenging blizzard conditions, restricted visibility and the risk of avalanche.
It is anticipated that searches will resume today, depending on weather conditions.
Inspector Isla Campbell said: “We would urge any climbers or walkers who were on Ben Nevis yesterday to report anything they believe may be of assistance to us as soon as possible.
“The conditions on Ben Nevis are currently very challenging and I would urge any walkers or climbers planning a trip to the area to take this into account.”
