Ferry operator CalMac has announced that its new interim managing director as of Monday is Robbie Drummond.
Mr Drummond is the company’s interim director of service delivery and former group finance director.
Martin Dorchester will step down as managing director of CalMac and chief executive of David MacBrayne Ltd at the end of February.
David McGibbon, chairman of David MacBrayne Limited, the parent company, said: “The board is delighted that Robbie Drummond has accepted this appointment as interim managing director of CalMac Ferries Limited.
“We have a contract to deliver the lifeline ferry services until 2024 and, whilst we face challenging times, Robbie’s experience as group finance director and, more recently, as interim director of service delivery will, I believe, stand him in good stead in the period ahead and even more so as we look towards the future.”
Mr Drummond will assume responsibility for operational matters relating to CalMac Ferries Limited.
The board will shortly begin the process to recruit a chief executive of David MacBrayne Limited.
