There has been congestion on roads across the north and north-east this morning after heavy snow overnight.
A total of 31 schools and nurseries have already been closed across the Highlands, as of 10am, while Inverness Airport said that several of its flights would be delayed.
A Met Office warning for snow is in place for much of the region and remains in place until 3pm today.
The A93 is closed at Glenshee and will be shut for the foreseeable future.
Police Scotland also issued specific travel advice and said they expected road conditions to be hazardous in places. Plunging overnight temperatures has left ice on the roads and gales are expected on the west coast.
Chief Superintendent Stewart Carle, head of road policing, said: “Drivers should take extra care while travelling on Tuesday.
“You should ensure you and your vehicle are adequately prepared for the conditions, making sure you have sufficient fuel and supplies such as warm clothing, food and water in the event you are delayed for several hours.”
Two lorries were stuck in snow near the Tore roundabout on the A9 earlier this morning but they have now been cleared.
There are also two lorries stuck in snow on the A9 further south at Tomatin, which has caused some congestion.

In the north-east, routes between Kintore and Inverurie and Turriff and Newmacher have been badly affected.
Serious delays on the A9 between Inverness and Kingussie are reported, as well as the A96 between Inverness and Nairn.
