Work on large stretches of road in the area has been approved by the Highland Council’s Area Committee. Resurfacing work will be done on the A939 from on the Castle Grant East Lodge to snow gates section. There will be work on the brae above the north snow gates on the Moray bound section and inlay works on the Bridge of Brown / A95 junction. Surface dressing on the B9152 is planned for Grampian Road, Aviemore and overlay works at the Kincraig Brae junction. The Loch an Eilein to Boathouse road-end section on the B970 will also be treated. The proposals show that various roads in Grantown on Spey, Kingussie and Carrbridge will get resurfaced. The maintenance programme was approved by local councillors, but is subject to alteration if “significant events impact priorities and resources”. The Council’s Community Services Committee budget allocations for the area will also need to confirm the plans.
