Skye police have signalled their delight after one of their “friends” won a Brit Award – former One Direction star Harry Style.
The pop singer clinched the award for British artist video of the year with Sign Of The Times, which was filmed on Skye.
In the wake of his win, local officers from the Lochaber and Skye force took to Twitter to congratulate him.
Well done to our friend @Harry_Styles on winning @BRITAwards video of the year for #SignOfTheTimes filmed on #Skye. We're taking that as a victory for our team to go with the @BAFTA for @OurFamilyUK and our @policeawards trophy. #NowForAnOscar

They had previously appealed for Styles to sign up as a special constable after he shot the video last year.
The shoot caused a stir among local residents, who took to social media as the news spread.
Shulista Croft Wigwams on Skye wrote: “You never know who you might bump into on Skye. Harry Styles has been filming his new video over Staffin Bay.
“Looks like the One Direction he is taking is Skye-wards.”
However fishing business Skye Ghillie, run by Mitchell Partridge, was surprised to find Styles gate-crashing his day.
He wrote: “Trying to fish today with the Wilson family from Kentucky USA. However a fella call Harry Styles thought it would be good to shoot a new video at Storr lochs today.”
