An area of hillside spanning about half a mile is on fire in north Argyll.
Two fire appliances were on scene in Appin, near Oban, at around 8.15pm. The flames could be seen reflected on Loch Creran, behind the Creagan Inn and the A828 Connel to Ballachulish road.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “We are in attendance at a grass fire in Appin, where approximately half a mile of the hill is on fire.
“Two appliances are in attendance, one full time and one volunteer unit.”
There were no reports of any people being caught up in the fire.
