The male casualty was on the Tartan Alpha platform, located over 110 miles north-east of Aberdeen, when he began to feel unwell. Coastguard Rescue 900 was dispatched from Sumburgh after the call came in at 11.30am yesterday morning. The man was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
