A north couple killed when their car plunged into Little Loch Broom are to be lain to rest on Monday – three weeks after the tragic accident.
Kenneth McCrimmon, known as Ross, 44, and Rose Bassett, 48, were travelling back to Poolewe on Monday March 26 after visiting family in Ullapool when their red Honda Civic left the A832 near Ardessie.
The incident sparked a major rescue operation from emergency services but despite their best efforts, police confirmed no one had survived the crash.
The couple, both in their 40s, worked at the famous Inverewe Garden for the National Trust of Scotland NTS and lived within the Poolewe area.
Shocked residents described them as a ‘lovely couple’.
A joint funeral is scheduled to take place at Poolewe Free Church on Monday, April 16 at 1pm before the couple are buried at Poolewe Cemetery.
The family has asked for donations to be made to Epilepsy Scotland in honour of the couple.
