Police on Skye are appealing for information after a wooden bridge was dismantled on a public path near Portree.
The bridge carries the path across a burn, allowing access from Viewfield Road to the Forestry Commission walk at Shullishader.
It is believed that the damage was caused sometime between the evening of Monday and the morning of Tuesday.
Constable Lesley Campbell said: “The walk is frequently used by a large amount of dog walkers, joggers, and cyclists and this dismantling of the bridge has caused a considerable amount of upset in the community.
“Anyone who has any information is asked to contact Portree police station on 101.”
