A mother and son who lost their home and family pet in a devastating house fire in Ross-shire have passed on a message of thanks to the emergency services and community for rallying round in their time of need.
The family members, who did not wish to be named, were evacuated from the Milton house in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Three fire appliances rushed to the Munro Crescent scene after a 5.20am call.
A source close to the family said: “They would like to thank everyone who helped in this dire situation.”
It was reported that neighbours came to the aid of the mother and son after the blaze to find them somewhere to stay and give them clothes and essentials.
It is understood a second dog, who had been treated by a vet at the scene, is OK.
