A land, sea and air search is underway for an elderly woman reported missing in the Gairloch area in the early hours of this morning.
Phyllis Robin, 78, was last seen in the Aultgrishan area yesterday evening wearing a pink pyjama top, spotted bottoms and wellington boots.
Today police search teams have been joined by coastguard crews and a coastguard helicopter from Stornoway, after receiving the call to help look for her at around 4.30am.
Ms Robin is 5ft 2in in height, slim and has short white and auburn hair.
Sergeant Kay MacRae, who is leading the search, said: “(We) are growing increasingly concerned for Phyllis’s welfare and are appealing for anyone who has seen her or has any knowledge as to her present whereabouts or has information that could assist enquiries are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 0829 21/04/18.”
