Drivers in Badenoch and Strathspey are being urged to slow down and be mindful of the 20mph speed limit as police officers focus on road safety across the area.
A number of speed checks have been carried out this week in villages including Aviemore, Kincraig, Carrbridge and Newtonmore.
Particular attention has been paid to school routes at peak times to ensure motorists abide by the limits.
Constable Caroline Gray said: “With road safety being one of the top concerns for local communities, activity this week has been aimed at reducing vehicle speed in and around schools, which I’m sure everyone appreciates is vital to ensuring children, young people and indeed all road users as safe as possible.
“The majority of motorists drive very safely and within the speed limit but unfortunately three drivers were issued with fixed penalties this week for speeding offences very close to primary schools.
“As daylight hours extend and traffic flow increases in the area, officers are keen to continue working with local residents and community councils to address any concerns they may have about road safety.”
Anyone with concerns about speeding or any aspect of road safety in their local community is encouraged to contact Police on 101 or via the Police Scotland website.
