A Fortrose woman who made a silent call to the police and then attacked them when they tried to arrest her was jailed for six months yesterday.
Elizabeth Gibson, of Cathedral Square, who admitted previous convictions for making hoax 999 calls, admitted three charges of police assault and one of breach of the peace in Fortrose on April 8.
Fiscal depute Fiona Murray said the 20 year old had called 999 and when police responded, they saw Gibson running away from the direction of the phone box.
She was later traced and Gibson began acting aggressively, swinging punches at the four officers who had been sent to deal with her.
Mrs Murray said Gibson was put to the ground, but continued to resist, attempting to punch and bit the officers, and repeatedly kicking two of them.
Jailing Gibson, Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood told defence solicitor Ken Ferguson: “She got yet another chance on March 31 by getting a community payback order imposed. These offences were committed on April 8.”
And he told Gibson: “You are going to get fed up of going to jail, before I get fed up sending you.”
