Strathpeffer Primary School is to receive a playground expansion thanks to a £1000 donation from Scottish Water and alliance partner amey-Black & Veatch (aBV).
The project has been three years in the making for the Strathpeffer Primary Parent Council who have campaigned to reach their goal of £11,000, with the latest donation resulting in the group achieving this target.
Abby Lucas, Secretary of the Parent Council, said: "The school has been fundraising for the slide equipment since 2015 and the parent council and children have worked really hard – holding discos, bake sales, summer fetes and sponsored events.
"With so many other things to pay for such as school trips, it is not a quick process so we are really proud to have reached our goal with the recent funding help from Scottish Water and three local windfarm funds."
The expansion is set to see the installation of a seven-foot steel slide with a low wooden fort platform and scramble net.
Trish Wilson, of Scottish Water, said: "Alongside aBV, we are very pleased to be able to make this contribution to support the fundraising efforts of the parent council.”
Sam Neill, aBV project manager, said: "The community has clearly put a lot of hard work into the fundraising efforts for the playground project and we are delighted to be able to support them with this contribution.
"We worked closely with local residents in Strathpeffer throughout the duration of the sewer upgrade project and this is a small gesture to thank them for their understanding."
