Police in Ross-shire are appealing for information following the theft of cash from a wallet at the Black Isle Showground near Muir of Ord.
The cash was removed from a wallet which had been left temporarily unattended during a charity car boot sale event at around 8am on Sunday.
The wallet was later recovered but a quantity of cash, valued at approximately £180, was reported to be missing.
Sergeant Alasdair Goskirk said: “It is disappointing that someone has stolen cash during a charity event like this.
“I would remind people to make sure they keep their personal belongings safe and secure, especially if they are of value, and not to offer an opportunity to thieves.
“Our inquiries are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information about this incident to call 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
