The A9 has now reopened after a vehicle caught fire between Moy and Tomatin.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called at 9.12am and dispatched one appliance to deal with the fire.
There were no casualties and around 10am the fire service handed over to Police Scotland who were already on scene.
Bear Scotland were also called to deal with traffic issues, as the road had been closed in both directions, and to verify the carriageway had not been damaged by the flames.
Earlier Traffic Scotland advised on its website: “The A9 at Moy is currently restricted in both directions due to a vehicle fire.
“Motorists are advised to approach with caution and allow extra time for their journey.”
