Sutherland police are appealing for information following the theft of two flags from Golspie War Memorial.
The two flags were noticed to be missing from the memorial yesterday morning, having been seen in place on Sunday.
One of the flags is a Union Jack, while the other marks the centenary of the RAF. Both are around 6ft by 4ft.
Constable Stephen Mackenzie said: “These flags were put in place at the memorial by members of the local community and for someone to steal them is particularly disrespectful.
“We would urge anybody who saw anything suspicious in the area or has information which could assist us to get in touch as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting reference NE3974/18.
