The constituency MSP for the Isle of Skye will officially start runners off on the island’s half-marathon this weekend.
Around 1,000 people will participate in Saturday’s 13-mile event, which will have a full road closure on the A87 for the first time.
As well as starting the half marathon race, MSP Kate Forbes will also help hand out prizes for the shorter fun run and toddler dash.
She said: “I am incredibly excited to be starting the Skye half-marathon on Saturday.
“As somebody who only runs when she’s late for the train, I won’t be joining the talented athletes on the course but it is a privilege to see them off.
“People come from all over the world for the half-marathon, as well as locals. Perhaps next year, I’ll don the shorts but for now I wish every runner the very best.”
