Police are hunting an attacker who carried out a serious sexual assault in Lochaber.
Officers yesterday issued an appeal for information following the incident in Fort William.
A woman was sexually assaulted in the High Street area of the Lochaber town, close to Middle Street, on Sunday June 17, between 1am and 1.30am.
Police Scotland confirmed the incident was first reported to them on Thursday, June 28.
Officers are keen to trace a man described as being around 20-years-old, 5ft 10in to 6ft in height, of medium to well-built with a round face and short cut blonde or light brown hair with a side parting.
The man was believed to be wearing a white t-shirt, open khaki jacket or long sleeved shirt, black jeans and a chunky black watch. He spoke with a Glaswegian accent and spoke of being a college student in Glasgow.
Detective Inspector Donald Macdonald said: “While the victim in this case was physically uninjured, she has obviously been left very shaken and she is receiving support from specialist officers.
“I appreciate it is now several weeks since this incident and I would like to reassure people that extensive police enquires have been ongoing to resolve this case, including thorough checks of CCTV footage.
“I would ask people to cast their minds back and report anything you think may be important, even if it seemed inconsequential at the time.
“Officers will continue to carry out enquiries in Fort William into this incident and I’m grateful for the help of all who have already assisted our enquiries.”
