A 64-year-old male motorcyclist has died following a crash on the A82 earlier today.
The incident occurred at around midday, as the motorcyclist – on a white, red and blue coloured Honda motorbike – was in a collision with a silver coloured Vauxhall Vivaro van near to Ardvorlich Cottage.
The vehicles were travelling in opposite directions at the time.
The motorcyclist was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The 33-year-old driver of the van was not injured.
A Scottish Ambulance spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1156 hours today to attend a road traffic collision on the A82 in Ardlui.
“We dispatched one ambulance and an air ambulance to the scene. One male patient was transported to Queen Elizabeth hospital.”

Motorists on the A82 faced lengthy delays as a 50-mile diversion was put in place.
The road remains closed as a collision investigation takes place with motorists advised to divert via Inveraray.
