Emergency services were alerted to the incident on Carn Mor Dearg in the Lochaber area at 12.35pm. Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and the Coastguard helicopter Rescue 951 attended but the 58-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Police said his next of kin are aware. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
