A motorcyclist has died following a two-vehicle crash near Ullapool earlier today.
The incident involving a black Triumph motorcycle and a burgundy Ford Fiesta occurred around at 2.30pm on the A832 junction at Corrieshalloch Gorge – a stretch of road notorious for its series of downhill bends.
A section of the A835 has been closed for several hours and is expected to remain shut late into the night.
Police have now confirmed that a man died in the crash.
A spokesman said: “The road is likely to remain closed for some time whilst officers carry out investigations into this incident.”
Police Scotland can confirm that one male has sadly died following a two vehicle collision on the A835 earlier today (Thursday 19th July, 2018).

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to call the police on 101 and quote reference number 2102 of 19th July.
Motorists who have been delayed and are due to travel on the CalMac ferry to the Western Isles will be able to on the freight ferry leaving at 3am tomorrow morning.
A CalMac spokesman said: “Drivers will be able to cross on the freight service at 3am on Friday morning.
“Passengers should make their way to the ferry terminal as normal.”
