A man has died after a road accident in the Highlands.
The incident happened on the A832 near Munlochy at around 8.30am yesterday.
The 73-year-old driver of a grey Ford Focus was pronounced dead at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service.
The driver of the other vehicle involved, a 57-year-old male, was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with minor injuries, where he was later released after treatment.
The road was closed in both direction for around six hours to allow for collision investigation to be carried out.
Sergeant Chris Murray said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the gentleman involved at this sad time.
“Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I would ask anyone who may have information but has not yet spoken to a police officer to call the road policing unit in Dingwall on 101.”
