NHS Highland has created a dedicated website to recruit health and and social care professionals to the north of Scotland.
The health board has joined health providers across the world in utilising the Global Medical Careers platform which has the potential to reach thousands of doctors, nurses and allied health professionals each day.
The bespoke website details the innovative work carried out across the health board area, the region’s rural general and community hospitals and primary care settings and promotes the benefits of living and working in the Highlands.
NHS Highland’s interim director of human resources, Dawne Bloodworth, said: “It has long been recognised that the recruitment and retention of staff is one the main challenges we face as a board and we have explored a number of ways to tackle this issue.
“One of the initiatives included setting up a specialist website to encourage GPs to consider a move to rural practice. This received a positive response and we wanted to see if we could do something similar for other clinicians.
“Using the Global Medical Careers platform will enable us to reach a wider audience of health professionals and highlight the benefits of working and living in the north of Scotland.”
The dedicated website allows interested parties to find out more about working for NHS Highland.
Potential employees can read about the Highland Quality Approach, central to how the health board designs and delivers services, the board’s growing reputation for research, development and innovation and the integration of health and adult social care services in 2012.
The website also provides details of travel links and an overview of the Highland landscape, including Loch Ness, Ben Nevis, Skye and Argyll and Bute.
