The incident happened close to the Tomich junction of the A9 near Invergordon around 12.15pm. The junction remained closed for almost two hours as emergency services cleared away the wreckage. The minibus, believed to be carrying children, was stationed at the junction when the skip fell off the lorry and crashed into it. Police were sent to the scene alongside paramedics from the ambulance service. A spokesman from the ambulance service said: “We received a call at 1218 hours today to attend a road traffic collision in Tomich. “We dispatched three ambulances and a BASICS doctor to the scene.” A second minibus arrived at the scene shortly after to transport the children away from the scene. Passengers escaped with only minor injuries as a result of the crash.
