Selkirk band Frightened Rabbit were due to play at this year’s Belladrum festival, as they have done in previous years.
But in May their frontman Scott Hutchison died in tragic circumstances following a battle with depression.
Belladrum organisers decided to pay special tribute on Friday night by playing the band’s album The Midnight Organ Fight in full with a video tribute to Mr Hutchison, who talked openly about mental illness.
Footage showed the band at previous Bella festivals as well as video from some of their tracks and some of Mr Hutchison’s regular acoustic sets in the Tomatin Bothy.
A particularly emotive moment came as a song written by Mr Hutchison about suicide, entitled Floating in the Forth, was played.
At the end of the tribute, the crowd kept singing and clapping for several minutes afterwards as their own tribute to the popular musician.

Frightened Rabbit fan Kim Delaney, who was with her husband Alan, had come up from Dunfermline to see the band and was at the special tribute.
She said she had once spoken to the frontman outside a small venue in the Fife town.
Kim added: “There were lots of people with lumps in their throats. It was great to see some of the footage of the good times up there. Every story you hear about him is of his warm character and it’s tragic and heartbreaking that he has gone – but the organisers have done a good job by putting this on.”
