A 31-year-old Lewis man was jailed for 90 days yesterday after admitting being abusive to guest house staff and then threatening police.
Sentence had been deferred on Mark Wyer, of Barbas, for a background report after he admitted two charges of threatening or abusive behaviour and possession of cannabis.
Inverness Sheriff Court had been told at an earlier hearing that Wyer had been arrested after being abusive towards staff at the Hazeldean Guest House in Inverness on July 8.
He was arrested and taken to Burnett Road Police Station where he threatened officers who tried to remove a necklace he was wearing.
His solicitor, Pauline Chapman said: “He didn’t have his prescribed medication at the time. There are significant mental health problems here.”
Wyer’s sentence was backdated to July 9 when he was remanded in custody.
