A 29-year-old male has been charged for drink driving offences after his car careered into a ditch on Skye.
The young male was travelling on the A850 near Flashader, Portree when his blue Ford Fiesta left the road shortly before 2am this morning.
The alarm was raised at 1.54am, with police officers first to arrive on the scene.
Both the fire service and ambulance service were also called to the scene following reports of the one vehicle crash.
Two fire engines were dispatched, travelling from Dunvegan and Portree, after receiving a call for assistance at 2.15am.
The driver was extracted from the vehicle by the ambulance service but sustained no injuries.
Police confirmed the driver has since been charged for drink driving offences.
A police spokesman said: “A 29-year-old man has been reported in connection with drink driving offences. He is due to appear in court later in August.”
The incident occured just a few hours following a four vehicle crash on the A87 near Sligachan at 8.45am yesterday.
A 54-year-old man died as a result of the crash, involving his white Ford van, a white Audi Q7, a blue Mercedes C-class and a silver vauxhall.
