A man whose body was recovered in Glen Nevis last month was buried in the Lochaber glen yesterday.
David Munro, 74, had been reported missing from the area in August 2017. His body was found on July 8.
Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances. A spokesman said: “Mr Munro was buried on Wednesday August 14 in Glen Nevis and his family wish to thank all who were present for their attendance.”
Police launched an appeal in August last year after he had not been seen for a number weeks and was not in any of his usual camping spots. He was known to camp in the area using two tents.
Last month John Stevenson, leader of Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team, said a team member was on a routine search for Mr Munro when he found a tent.
He said: “He was searching up a burn off the River Nevis – about half way up the glen – when he came across the tent.
“He informed the police that a body was inside. Mr Munro was very well-known in the area and used to stay up and down the glen.”
