A casualty has been cut from the wreckage of a two car crash at the access road to the Corran Ferry just south of Fort William.
Police, fire service and ambulance were all called to the incident on the A82 just before 10.40am.
According to the Fire Service two appliances were sent to the scene and cutting gear was used to free the casualty.
After the roof of one of the vehicles was removed to free the individual they were passed to the Scottish Ambulance Service and taken to Belford Hospital – their condition is unknown.
Traffic Scotland advised that the road is closed in both directions and motorists should consider alternative routes where possible.
It is not known how long the road will be closed for and there is no word yet on diversions.
