Lochaber police are appealing for information following a theft of fuel from a hotel in the Fort William area.
A large quantity of heating oil was removed from a tank at Innseagan Hotel on Achintore Road some time between the morning of Friday August 10 and the evening of Friday August 17.
Inquiries are ongoing and officers are asking anyone with information to make contact.
Constable Ben Cruickshank said: “While we appreciate this is a lengthy period during which the fuel was removed, we would ask anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around the area to make contact.
“Whoever is responsible has tampered with security measures in place and would have needed to be in the area for some time to remove this quantity of fuel.
“I would also take the opportunity to remind people to make sure their fuel tanks are as secure as possible. Nothing is entirely fool-proof but simple steps such as a good quality lock or a security light can be enough to deter thieves.”
Anyone with information can call police in Fort William on 101.
