An Easter Ross disqualified driver asked his girlfriend if he could drive her father’s car on a trip to a Highland wildlife park.
But Jake Macdonald, 20, didn’t tell Molly Paterson, also 20, that he was banned from getting behind the wheel.
So when police stopped Macdonald, of Dalmore, Alness, on suspicion of speeding through Kincraig on June 18, officers discovered he shouldn’t have been driving.
Fiscal depute Laura Ryan said that Macdonald then told police of his disqualification.
Defence solicitor Willie Young said: “It was an act of gross stupidity.”
Macdonald was fined a total of £600 and was banned for one year after he admitted being a disqualified driver and being without insurance.
