Oban Lifeboat was call to the aid of a sailor who suffered from a dislocated shoulder when the boom of a yacht swung suddenly near the isle of Easdale.
At 1.54pm on Tuesday the was tasked by the UK Coastguard to assist a 39ft yacht which had put out a distress call.
One of the two people on board was left with a dislocated shoulder and a possible broken arm.
Oban Lifeboat left the berth at 2.03pm, with eight of the volunteer crew onboard.
Oban Lifeboat arrived on scene at 2.33pm and immediately transferred three of the lifeboat crew to the yacht. Two of the crew carried out casualty care and the other assisted in bringing the yacht into calmer waters to transfer the casualty on board the lifeboat.
At 2.49pm the injured man was taken off the yacht along with the two casualty care trained crew. An additional member of the lifeboat crew was then transferred to the yacht to help bring it into Oban.
The lifeboat departed the scene and headed for Oban, arriving back in the berth at 3.10pm where the casualty was transferred to Oban Coastguard Team and taken to Oban’s Lorn and the Isles Hospital for treatment.
Immediately after transferring the casualty to the coastguard team, the lifeboat departed the berth again to rendezvous with the yacht and escorted it into the North Pier Transit Marina.
Oban Lifeboat returned to station at 4.04pm and was ready for service shortly after.
