Rescue efforts were underway by emergency services today to help free a 12-year-old girl trapped down a gorge at the Falls of Bruar.
The youngster was wandering round the popular Perthshire tourist attraction when she plunged down the steep embankment.
Emergency services from across the region raced to the scene, at the rear of the House of Bruar, after being notified of the incident around 4pm.
Four fire appliances were in attendance alongside a number of specialised units, police officers and paramedics; all eager to free the stranded female.
Emergency services took several measures to evaluate the serious nature of her injuries before raising her up by rope from the steep drop.
The female casualty is believed have suffered a knee injury as a result of the fall rendering her unable to free herself from the drop.
Once free, the casualty was placed into the hands of awaiting paramedics for further medical attention.
Her injuries are not believed to be life threating.
