Three people have been left with minor injuries following a two vehicle crash on the A82.
The collision between a van and a car occured on the A82 near the junction with Alltsigh at Invermoriston shortly before 5.50pm today.
Police were notified of the collision at 5.45pm, dispatching a number of units to the scene alongside paramedics and firefighters from across the region.
Two fire appliances from Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus were sent to the scene, with firefighters aiding in providing first aid to casualties at the scene until paramedics arrived.
A fire spokeswoman said: “We received the call at 5.42pm. We immobilised two appliances to the scene, one from Drumnadrochit and one from Fort Augustus. Two persons were released from the vehicle prior to our arrival. We assisted with casualty handling and ensuring the vehicles were safe. We administered first aid and oxygen therapy at the scene. The stop message came in at 6.22pm, by which time the ambulance crews were on the scene.”
A police spokesman confirmed that “both occupants were out of the car” meanwhile, the solo driver of the van was now “out of the vehicle and lying at the side of the road complaining of a lot of pain in his neck and shoulders.”
The road remained open following the incident however, officers confirmed there was significant traffic disruption following the collision.
Emergency services remained at the scene for several hours prior to the vehicles being recovered.
