An elderly victim of a potential cash scam found two men working in her Lochaber garden before trying to take money from her.
Police in Fort William have said bogus workmen are scamming people by cold calling, forcing people to pay for work they have not commissioned, and delivering leaflets throughout Lochaber.
The two white men are described as one in his 40s, 6ft, medium build, fair brown hair and speaking with an Irish accent. The second man was described as being in his 20s.
The men were driving a white Ford Transit with the registration AD10 EBA.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “The males have been delivering flyers and cold calling addresses in the Inchree/Oninch area. They also engaged in gardening work without permission placing an elderly female in distress.
“The local community are advised to be vigilant to cold callers, particularly elderly/vulnerable residents in the area.”
