An elderly man has been seriously injured in an incident at an Oban housing estate.
The man was taken to hospital and the area around Columba Court in Dunollie was cordoned off with police tape this morning.
A police spokeswoman said: “Around 9.40am on Monday October 1 police were called to a report of an elderly man being assaulted by another man in Columba Court, Oban.
“Emergency services attended and found the victim seriously injured. He has been taken by ambulance to Lorn and Islands Hospital for treatment.
“A man was arrested at the scene and inquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Oban CID.”
