A West Highland community have had their mobile signal restored after three months offline.
It follows constituency MSP Kate Forbes pressuring the phone giant EE into action.
For three months EE customers in the Acharacle, Salen and Strontian communities in North-West Lochaber had no reception because of transmission problems at three mast sites on the Ardnamurchan peninsula.
Following talks with Ms Forbes this week, EE representatives confirmed that coverage had been restored for the first time since July.
Ms Forbes, MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, said: “This is brilliant news and I’m so pleased that EE has finally resolved the connectivity problem on the Ardnamurchan peninsula.
“It is long overdue, but it will be good news for the local health service, businesses and residents who depend on mobile connectivity.
“It has taken lots of letters, meetings and phone calls but I hope that mobile signal is vastly improved on the Ardnamurchan peninsula.
“We depend on it – and no business and organisation should neglect the most rural communities.”
