A yacht stuck in a weir and an ill passenger both required the attention of the Coastguard this evening.
Loch Ness lifeboat was launched at 5.48pm in response to a call of a yacht reported to be stuck in a weir on Loch Dochfour. A coast rescue team from Inverness also raced to the scene as the yacht was freed with both crews standing down at 7.20pm.
A coastguard spokeswoman said no injuries had been reported.
In Stornoway, an ill passenger travelling on the Cal Mac passenger vessel MV Loch Seaforth required the attention of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
A spokesman said: “An ambulance was arranged for the passenger after we received a call shortly after 7pm.
“The vessel is now alongside Stornoway Harbour and paramedics are dealing with the casualty.”
