Two fire crews are currently assisting residents to safety after the River Oykel burst its banks this morning.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We currently have Dornoch and Lairg in attendance after we received a call at 7.33am that the River Oykel had burst its banks affecting properties in the area.
“One water rescue team is currently assisting residents to safety.”
Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued a flood warning for Strath Oykel, stating: “Levels remain high with significant flooding of agricultural land. River levels peaked at 6am and are now dropping. Levels are expected to continue to drop as rain eases during today.
“Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.”
