Kyle of Lochalsh RNLI’s volunteer crew were called to assist a yacht in difficulty after its steering was disabled due to bad weather.
A lifeboat was launched at 5.28pm on Friday after a 15 metre yacht, which had one person on board, was in danger of breaking up due to being battered by high winds and large swell.
The yacht was stuck hard against the windward side of Broadford pier and, after a lifeboat crew member was put aboard to assess the situation, the vessel was towed to the sheltered side of the swell.
By 7.10pm, the lifeboat had successfully towed the vessel to the safe and sheltered location, and departed the scene.
The lifeboat then returned to Kyle and was refuelled and ready for service by 7:30pm.
