A mechanical issue brought facilities at Inverness Leisure to a close yesterday, leaving users unable to access the competition-sized swimming pool, leisure pool and health suite.
The incident occurred around 2pm.
A High Life Highland spokesman said: “Early this afternoon there was a pool plant failure at Inverness Leisure. We currently have engineers on site assessing the situation and it is unlikely we will reopen today. We are hopeful to be back up and running as normal tomorrow morning.”
Inverness Leisure is home to an eight-lane 25-meter swimming pool. About 2,000 children receive swimming education at the facility each week.
Access to other facilities at Inverness Leisure remained open yesterday.
